The 1.8 Billion Young People for Change campaign aims to support adolescents and youth to reach their potential with better policies and investments addressing their needs. Through the 1.8 billion Young People for Change Campaign the MOH will use digital tools to help collect 70,000 responses for the “What Young People Want” Initiative, aiming to improve the health and well-being of young people.
In Uganda, with support from the Universal Health and Development Foundation (UHDF) ,the MOH has embraced the 1.8 billion campaign. They are committed to involving top leadership in mobilizing and engaging adolescents and young people by capturing their concerns, ambitions and priorities towards improving their health and well-being. What's Coming Up? What does well-being mean to you? Young people (10-24 years) are encouraged to enter their art (design, film or music) and answer this question. Submissions open until 2 July 2023. Make your voice heard for adolescent wellbeing for the SDG Summit in September! On 18-19 September 2023, world leaders will gather at the SDG Summit. The Summit is expected to adopt a political declaration that will provide a roadmap for putting the world back on track to achieve the SDGs by their 2030 deadline. The next round of consultations is scheduled for 9 June. Member States are being called on to come to the SDG Summit to deliver a ‘Rescue Plan for People and Planet’, including national and global commitments that will help drive SDG transformation for inclusion and sustainability in the years ahead.
